Quest for a Cure is a registered not for profit organization raising funds and awareness for cancer treatment in the National Capital Region.
In the spring of 2000, Ottawa firefighter and adventure racer Jim Andrews was diagnosed with cancer. Following his surgery Jim was referred to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation for care. Since then, a close friend, adventure racing team-mate and fellow firefighter, Mark Johnston, has also been diagnosed with cancer. It was from their shared experience that the Quest for a Cure was born.
- Our mission… to raise funds and awareness for cancer treatment and prevention
- Our goal… to promote high quality adventure/sport fundraising events that challenge competitors both physically and mentally, while increasing awareness of cancer care in our community.
- Our reward is the knowledge that 100 % of all funds raised support the world class care and treatment provided by the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
